Opened in 1972, Kurumba Maldives is the first resort ever opened in Maldives. A complete reconstruction of the resort have taken place in 2003 and it has emerged as a grand resort of distinctive style and panache. Kurumba Maldives is just 15 minutes away from Male' International Airport by speedboat.

The name of the resort 'Kurumba' is derived from the coconut palms that grow in the Maldives in glorious abundance. The resort lovingly nurtured tropical gardens features an orchid nursery. Shaded paths on one side of the 30-acre circular island leads to the other side. The white sandy beaches are protected by eco-breakwaters or weathered coral.

A total of 180 bungalows and villas dotted throughout the island within verdant foilage is only a pace or two from the beach, Kurumba Maldives offer a wide range of luxurious accomodation. All the rooms and villas have wooden floors and are elegantly furnished with solid timbre furniture.

	01 Royal Kurumba Residence (768 sq.m) - 2 bedrooms This is truly the ultimate in luxurious living, enter through a courtyard by a bridge over an ornamental pool with a thached pavilion and daybeds on either side. A patio gives access to a foyer and huge sitting room, complete with butler's pantry and guest washroom. Vihamana : The delightful main restaurant at the Kurumba Maldives. Offers gourmet buffets for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. With a different theme buffet every night the restaurant offers all Full and Half Board guests some of the best cuisine options to choose from. Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Lebanese, Italian to name a few. Friday afternoons are Brunch by the seaside and Sunday evening a surprise thrown in every now and then. Vihamana is always a fresh experience. The Restaurant is also open to all bed and breakfast and Room only guests.

The Ocean Grill : Located on the edge of the beach with an overwater deck offering a panoramic view of the Indian Ocean. Prime cuts of beef, fresh lobster from the lobster pond are highlights of a varied menu. All bar-be-cued to your taste in a display kitchen. Open between 1930 hrs - 2200hrs, and seven days a week with a seating capacity of 220 Covers.

The Hamakaze : "Ocean Winds" - The Hamakaze is the Sushi Bar and Teppen - Yaki counter serving a unique style of cuisine from the Land of The Rising Sun . With a selection of Octopus, Tuna, Salmon, Ell and much more the Hamakaze serve the choicest selection of Sushi and Sahsimi. Sip on a selection of Hot Or Cold sake as the Chef creates one culinary presentation after another on the grill and on to your plate. The Hamakaze is located right next to the Ocean Grill and the Lobster pond.

Al Qasr - Arabian Nights at the Kurumba Maldives. Come savour a fare from the mystical Middle East . Grand palatial décor does justice to its name, Al Qasr - The Palace. Set with Arabic and other artefacts from the Middle East the Al Qasr serves traditional Lebanese specialities. Charcoal grilled meats, succulent kebabs, mezze and a variety of dips and pastes.

Kurumba Mahal -Cuisine from the royal kitches of North India. Succulent tandoories, curries - some spicy, other subtle, Naan and Paratta breads and luscious desserts make for a dinner fit for a Maharaja.

Ming Court - The Specialty Chinese Restaurant serving oriental delicasies from the Mainland. The Chef serves up superb selections from the Canton and Schezuan regions. With a soft waterfall on one side and a plant garden on another, marble tables and tasteful décor, the restaurant has a very contemporary and cozy look.

Golden Cowrie - Fine Italian cuisine. In an elegant, classical setting. Pesce, proscuitto, jambone, fromaggio. A variety of pastas and risottos. In the flavours of Tuscany and Lombardy, Sardinia and Sicily. Sensuous, full bodied Italian wines. Sinful Tiramisu. Bon Apetito!

Neptune Coffe Shop - Located right opposite the pool the Neptune Coffee Shop is the laidback all day dining restaurant at the Kurumba Maldives. From a selection of A la carte breakfast items to international favourites and light snacks the coffee shop is the perfect place to grab a quick bite or a small meal. Pastas, sandwiches, burgers, children's menu and select beverages are available at the coffee shop for every taste through the day till late at night. Serves a selection of pizzas from 1130 hrs to 1630 hrs.
